We have started the Easter festivities already since we will be in Cali on the actual day and don’t want to carry her Easter basket with us. So one morning we left a trail of eggs going down the stairs and into the office that Serenity followed to find her Easter basket! Notice the new Tinkerbell Nightgown. She got a piggy along with the new If You Give A Pig a Party book. She’s really into the Give a Mouse a Cookie book right now and they had the pig at Kohls so I was excited to get it! She also got her first play jewelry, a set of bracelets and a few necklaces. She loves wearing them, although she seems most excited to put them on her feet. She will concentrate very hard on looping the necklaces on her feet, saying either “goes on feet” or “golden feet,” I can’t quite tell which. It’s super cute though! She got some Easter candy as well of course.
Kohl’s was having a 50% off sale so Eric, Serenity and I all piled in the car to go shopping. I asked Serenity if she wanted to go and the answer was an emphatic yes. When we got there, Serenity picked out three new sets of pajamas. She liked several, but her clear favorites were a set of whale pajamas, a set with heart pants, and a Tinkerbell nightgown. We had planned on getting two new sets, so we figured the first one she dropped we’d put back. Ohhhh no, the girl did not lose interest in those pajamas, she dragged them all over the store while her Daddy followed her. One lady saw her and said she was getting started early =)
I chose three new outfits for her, all skirts as she has a decided preference for all things girly, and we found her a swim suit!! I had trouble looking for this, as I loved her fishy swimsuit last year so much it was hard to find one as cute. But finally I did, and Serenity approves of her new rainbow swimsuit. We also got Serenity a cute little bracelet and necklace set for her Easter basket.
This Monday Mom and I took Serenity to Build-A-Bear for the first time. She loves this monkey I have from there named Lucky, so I’ve been wanting to take her there for a while now! I explained to her that we were going to the place that I got Lucky, and that she could make her own monkey, or bear, or bunny, or kitty. Every time she said she wanted a kitty, but after we got there she discovered a duck!!! (It might be a chicken in hindsight, but to Serenity and me it looks like a duck =) She fell immediately in love with it, and grabbed one of the ducks from the bin and hugged it and snuggled it and ran all over the store with it. The only problem… she did not want to relinquish it long enough to stuff it, so she fussed a bit over that. I tried to get it on camera but the fussiness was short lived, she just plopped on her bottom with the newly finished duck and refused to look for accessories or clothes. She was like, “Mom, I just want to hug my duck, let’s go home!” When I asked her the duck’s name, she said “Quack!” So Quack the Duck is the newest member of our party =)
