It’s been a busy wonderful month! =) She’s growing and learning every day, and it’s so much fun to watch! We took family pictures today that I’ll post later, but here are some of Serenity =)
Serenity said the yellow rose smelled "delicious!"

Serenity has started asking for kisses when she gets hurt. She’ll run to me and whimper, “hurt your toe!†and say “kiss your toe!â€Â She loves to get kisses so much =) Sometimes she’ll just ask for kisses all over. “Kiss your head!† “Kiss your knee!â€Â “Kiss your cheek!â€Â “Kiss your neck!†One day she even asked “Kiss your tongue!â€
Serenity has a definite sweet tooth. She asks for candy regularly now. She loves all kinds of chocolate and candy like Skittles and fruit snacks. She really loves ice cream too. The other day, Uncle Casey wormed his way back into her good graces by giving her chocolate ice cream. Then she was finally nice to him again =)
Serenity loves pbskids.org. She makes people laugh when she asks for it, because she says the whole thing… “p-b-s-kids dot org!â€Â She can’t really work the mouse alone, so I move it and she clicks. We play a lot of Princess Presto’s Golden Crown spelling bee, and create your superhero because she can tell me the correct answer and then I put the mouse where she wants it. We printed a crown that we earned from the spelling bee and she loves wearing her “golden crown!â€
She built a city with her blocks in the front windowsill. It’s really just the perfect height for her to play on. We used all her blocks and her legos, and then she sat down in her city and grinned!
We still read lots of books at bedtime. Usually Mama has to read but every once in a while she’ll sit with Daddy. Daddy reads some every day but usually Mama has to hold the book and the baby. Some of her current favorites are Numbers (a simple number book with pretty pictures that she requests almost every night) Miss Spider’s Tea Party, Any Biscuit book, SuperWhy books, Chicka Chicka 1,2,3 (a library book), Gossie, Jamberry, and Pajama Time. I even heard her reciting Pajama Time through the baby monitor. Usually we will ask her if she wants to pick one last book so she knows it’s getting close to bedtime. It seems like she usually picks her longest book at that point =)

Serenity has some new favorite music! She often sings “I’m so happy.â€Â It’s the original welcome song we did at music class, and it goes, “I’m so happy to see Mama, I’m so happy to see Daddy, I’m so happy to see Serenity, everyone has fun in music class.â€Â She’ll say (a little more sing-songy every day) I’m so happy to see… and insert someones name there, usually Mama, Daddy or Serenity. It’s so cute! She also often asks her Daddy to sing “Singing in the Rain†and “Jolly Holiday.â€Â Eric is very happy that he made someone that likes his singing. =) She still loves the music from Mamma Mia, especially Honey Honey.
We had such a fun day yesterday. We were both in happy moods I think. She woke up from her nap and wanted to rock with me in the chair and read books. We got a book about the letter F and one about Z from a used bookstore. They are Sesame Street books and take less than a minute to read, but we read them together for more than thirty minutes. It’s safe to say those were a successful purchase! She even let Daddy read at bedtime, climbing in his lap and snuggling so sweetly. We played outside several times and she had a BLAST watering the plants. At first she was just pretending to water, dragging the hose around, but then I turned the “waterfall†on at her request. She got soaked and loved every minute of it. We played a little catch with the football, which was exciting because Serenity doesn’t really have a lot of interest in balls yet, so it’s fun when she’s in the mood. During naptime I did my Zumba and the dishes, so I even felt accomplished in addition to just having fun playing with my sweet baby.

So for the last few weeks, Serenity kept wandering around waving her arms and saying “Womba Womba to the Ground!!!â€Â I could not understand what she was saying, but it was so cute and exuberant I really wanted to know. Well finally I figured it out! I noticed her fingers were in the raindrop position from music class! She was singing Little Raindrops falling down, one by one (womba womba) onto the ground! It’s too cute!!!
She’s started giving another kind of really sweet hug. She wraps her arms around your neck and really clings. It’s so sweet =) And her kisses are still funny and sweet with a wide open mouth. =) She’s even starting to give hugs to other people when we go bye bye, although she still hesitates sometimes.
She loves the puzzle game we got her, although she still calls it her “new game†even though we’ve bought several others since. She can do every puzzle, and she’ll even say, “I need a D!†and ask for specific letters to the words she’s building.
This morning was Mother’s Day, and Eric and Serenity gave me the “Let’s Go Fishing†game since I enjoyed it so much with Aidan. We didn’t have batteries but that made it even more fun for us to play. =) She also did Zumba, waving her arms and saying Single, Single, Double, Double. =) It’s so funny what they pick up!
She couldn't decide which blue dress she wanted to wear, so she went for both.
We play ball in the backyard, football, baseball, and soccer. =)
She still loves swinging!!!
Painting with her new foam brushes and rollers =) She likes to line them all up. They also make good hairbrushes...
Casey read her bedtime stories! She LOVED it!!
She wanted to hug Barrett =) He was very concerned she'd mess up his little guys =)
Sweeping up the super fun confetti =)
We made rainbow cupcakes. Serenity helped me stir in the color and then spoon it in layers into the cupcake pan! =)
We went to the zoo with Phillip and Jessica! It was a blast!
Getting sleepy at the zoo. I love this pic =)
